The Keg Steakhouse and Bar, a local Vancouver chain of restaurants, has been in business since 1971, transforming the city’s dining scene with its classic dishes and welcoming service. Eating in Vancouver is not complete without a stop at The Keg.

What Makes The Keg Steakhouse of the Top Restaurants in Vancouver?
The Keg began simply as Keg’n Cleaver in North Vancouver over 40 years ago, but the restaurant has exploded into several locations in Greater Vancouver, Canada and recently the United States.

Prime rib is the restaurant’s signature dish, but all of its steaks are aged until perfectly tender and grilled for optimal taste. The Keg even offers a special mixture of spices only available at the restaurant.

The restaurant has taken home many impressive awards in its years of service. In 2003, the chain was named Company of the Year by Foodservice and Hospitality Magazine, one of the most prestigious titles awarded in the Canadian restaurant industry.

What Kind of Food Can I Expect?
For the best steak in Vancouver, The Keg is the place to go. Keg Classic Dinners include prime rib with horseradish and au jus, and naturally grilled steaks with teriyaki sauce.

Sirloins at the restaurant include the pecan sirloin basted and coated with chopped pecans and topped with goat cheese, and the baseball top sirloin that’s so thick medium rare is the most it can be cooked. Other specialty cuts of steak include filet mignon, t-bone and flat iron.

In addition to steaks, The Keg offers seafood like salmon in a honey Dijon, whole grain mustard glaze, king crab legs, honey barbecue chicken and ribs.

What Is the Price Range?
Steaks cost from $20.95 to $35.95 depending on the thickness, cut and toppings. Chicken, ribs and seafood dishes cost from $16.95 to $39.95.

Where Do I Find The Keg Steakhouse?
Three locations of The Keg can be found in Downtown Vancouver. The Granville Island Keg is located at 1499 Anderson St. and open from 11:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday and 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Sundays.

The other downtown Keg locations are at 742 Thurlow St. and 1011 Mainland St. in the Yaletown district.
