Baked chocolate goods like brownies and cookies, and other chocolate treats like cheesecake and ganache, can be the perfect desserts to satisfy your chocolate cravings.
Brownies: Making the Perfect Treat
For chewy, easy and delicious chocolate brownies, all you need is 1/2 cup butter, 3 ounces of unsweetened baking chocolate, 1 ounce of semi-sweet baking chocolate, 1 and 1/4 cups sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1/2 teaspoon dark rum, 3 eggs, 1 and 1/4 cups flour and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
After melting the chocolate and butter in a medium sauce pan, add sugar then eggs. Finally, mix in the other ingredients until smooth and spread into a prepared 8-inch baking pan and bake for 25 to 35 minutes at 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
Chocolate Cheesecake: A New Twist on a Classic Dessert
Cheesecake is one of the most beloved desserts on the planet, but add chocolate to the mix and you’ll make everyone swoon.
Follow typical instructions for cheesecake recipes, but for the filling, use 4, 8-ounce packages of cream cheese, 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 and 1/4 cups sugar, 4 large eggs and 1 9.7-ounce bar of 70 percent cocoa bittersweet chocolate, chopped.
Chocolate Cookies: A Favorite Bite-Size Dessert
Many variations on the chocolate cookie exist, but for a basic chocolate cookie recipe, you need 1/2 cup unsalted butter, 1/2 cup light brown sugar, 1/4 cup white sugar, 1 large egg, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 1 cup flour, 1/4 cup cocoa powder, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, 1/8 teaspoon salt and 1 and 1/2 cups white chocolate chips.
After preheating the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, beat the butter and sugar together then add the egg and vanilla.
In another bowl, combine all of the dry ingredients except the chips. Add the dry mixture to the butter and egg and blend completely. Finally, mix in the chocolate chips. Scoop 1 and 1/2 tablespoon of dough onto the baking sheet and place each cookie about two inches apart.
Chocolate Ganache: A Rich, Dark Dessert Addition
Chocolate ganache is a delicious and rich-tasting dessert enhancement, and the mixture is surprisingly easy to make. Basic ganache recipes call for semi-sweet chocolate and heavy cream.
The cream is brought to a boil then removed from heat and poured over chopped chocolate. The cream will warm and soften the chocolate, similar to the first stage used to temper chocolate, and you just have to whisk the mixture until smooth.
