Cooking Recipes

Sandwiches can be a nutritious, filling option for people looking for a quick bite. There are times, though, when you want a hot meal. There are plenty of great recipes out there for these kinds of sandwiches if you want to look beyond cold cuts or fruit filling. They can be served as the main course of a meal or as a light meal by themselves.

Hot-Meat Sandwiches

If you”re looking for something to do with that leftover roast, why not make a hot sandwich out of it? It”s a simple and satisfying sandwich.

First, cut your meat into thin slices and place it on one slice of bread. Heat up some gravy and pour it on top of the meat. Make sure to pour some on the other slice as well before putting the slices of bread together. If you don”t have any gravy, simply spread mayonnaise on both pieces of bread.

Hot Fried-Egg Sandwiches

This hot sandwich is not only easy to make, it”s very filling. Take the number of eggs you”d like and break them over a frying pan that has butter or other melted fat in it. Season the eggs with salt and pepper and fry on one side. Turn and fry the other side until the yolk is hard or to desired doneness. Place your egg on one slice of bread, while buttering the other. Put them together and you have a great treat!

Ham and Egg Sandwiches

For a little twist on the above sandwich, take some boiled ham and slice it. Saut the ham in fat for a few minutes while breaking how ever many eggs you”d like into a bowl. Beat the eggs and then pour them over the ham. Cook it well on one side and then flip to cook the other, making sure the mixture isn”t too thick.

Add some salt and pepper and then cut the egg and meat mixture into slices that will fit the bread. Butter one slice of bread, while putting the egg on the other and combine them for a satisfying meal.

Club Sandwiches

The club sandwich is likely one of the most famous and satisfying sandwiches ever invented. It”s also considered one of the tastiest if it”s done right. You have to put a little more effort into this one, but it”s likely to be worth it in the end. Follow the directions carefully and you”ll have no trouble with getting a good meal. Here is what you”ll need:

  • 2 slices of bread
  • 1/4 lb. sliced turkey
  • 1 leaf of lettuce
  • 2 tomato slices
  • 2 bacon slices
  • mayonnaise.

  1. Toast the bread.
  2. Fry the bacon until it is crisp.
  3. Take one slice of toast, add mayonnaise and put the lettuce leaf and the turkey on it.
  4. On top of that, add the tomato and then the bacon.
  5. Spread mayonnaise on the second slice of toast and top the sandwich.

Cheese Dreams: A Twist on Another Hot Sandwich

We”ve all heard of grilled cheese sandwiches. They”re a favorite of most kids, as well as some adults. They”re good and fairly simple to make. All you need to do is place a couple slices of cheese between two slices of buttered bread. Place the sandwich under a broiler, flipping it over as the cheese melts. You can also do the same in a frying pan if you melt some butter in the pan first.
